We collect the following personal information when you register or use our platform: full name, email address, business details (including business name, sector, description, logo and product information), payment information (processed securely via Stripe — we do not store card details), membership status and transaction history, and QR scan logs (date, time, location) for membership verification purposes.

We use your data to: manage your membership account and provide access to our platform; process payments and send receipts; display your business profile in The Avenue directory (with your consent); send you important service updates, membership reminders, and event information; verify your membership status when your QR code is scanned; and comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases: Contract — to fulfil our membership agreement with you; Legitimate interests — to improve our platform and communicate relevant updates; Consent — where you have opted in to marketing communications; Legal obligation — where required to comply with applicable law.

5. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with: Stripe (payment processing), our hosting and infrastructure providers, and any third party we are required to share data with by law. Your business profile information (name, business name, description, contact details) is visible to other members of The Avenue by default. You may request changes to your profile visibility by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your membership is active, plus a reasonable period thereafter for legal and accounting purposes (typically 7 years for financial records). You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time, subject to our legal obligations.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to certain processing; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis. We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. By using our platform, you consent to our use of essential cookies.

We take the security of your data seriously. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never passes through our servers. We regularly review our security practices and take reasonable steps to protect your information.
